It took over a day for me to remember this, but when I did, it came back to me very vividly. In the dream, my husband and I were walking our Newfie in the woods (this in itself is interesting, because my husband is confined to a wheelchair). We came to a stream, and he and Max (the Newfie) passed ahead of me. As I crossed the stream, using large rocks scattered in the stream bed as stepping stones, I happened to glance down and see a very plump, bright orange (bordering on red) salamander perched on one of the rocks. I stooped over and picked him up, calling to my husband to come take a look. Right after that, I woke up.

I don't know why that salamander sticks in my mind so strongly. He was a pretty little thing, and very docile. He seemed to enjoy just sitting my the palm of my hand, accepting my admiration. I remember how his color stood out from the mossy greens, grays, and browns of the woods and the stream.

I just felt compelled to share that dream. Weird.

Hm; I Googled images of salamanders, and I noticed something: Many of them appear to be smiling. I also noticed that the reddish-orange ones shown all have spots; the little guy in my dream didn't. Hm.

All right, I see what's going on. This is the opening salvo in what will be an escalating series of juvenile tit for tat exchanges. Well titted! Stand by for my upcoming tat. --Dr. Sheldon Cooper
