I think there are quite a few crazy people around.  There are the ones who think we will die in 2012 by some mystical giant planet that we somehow can't see right in front of our faces.  Then there are the ones who think humans, "oh my gawd we will be extinct one day because of all the nukes, my god we ruin this planet blah blah blah" and then go hug their tree in the front yard.

Anyway, who are the crazy-ER ones?

those of us who grew up having air raid drills during the cold war are gonna say the mayans were crazier. Doesnt matter really though, none of us get out of here alive.

Well, the 2012-believers are scared of a myth, while people who are afraid of nuclear destruction are scared of an actual threat. They might be overreacting, but crazy is too strong of a word, in my opinion.

Well you don't help crazy people by demanding they act sane or explaining how their beliefs are wrong. Someone trying to would be crazier.

Supposedly theres a 2012 "believer" or whatever you call them, that is going to jump off a cliff in the mountains somewhere in the states...at the actual hour of 11 a.m. on December 21. He thinks theres going to be a "porthole" "portal" opening that is going to save everyone on earth from disaster. What happens if theres no 'wormhole' after he jumps? Suicide, and suicide due to myths is crazy. What will I be doing?

What's crazy anyways? We might think that the "2012-believers" are crazier, because the "nuclear war theory" is a) mainstream B) more realistic.
But let's say the Mayan culture continued on until today and we were raised as "2012 believers". In that case the mystical giant planet wouldn't sound too crazy, right?

But what if even the Mayans weren't 2012-believers? It's a quite recently fabricated hoax.

True, it's quite impressive that their calendar even reaches the year 2012 (I mean I can't even handle to pre-plan the 12 months in my calendar). We can't expect them to create an infinite calendar, they'd still be working on it. Well, I guess we'll never know...

Can anyone honestly believe that these Mayan guys, who sacrificed slaves, mutilated children, threw people down their temple steps, cut out hearts etc ,predicted the worlds end a few hundred years ago, and why aren't they still around to see it happen. They actually thought that the Spanish Conquistadors were invincible two headed people, because they sat on horseback and wore body armour. Another Prediction failure coming up.

Why do some people believe that the Mayans 'disappeared'? At last count there were about 7 million of them.
