Hi guys and gals....what is the best way or service to post or embed sound files on this forum?  Is there something like photobucket but for audio files?  I've always preferred being able to post an embedded file like you can do with photobucket and resist the ones that only provide a link that take you away from a site....but I haven't found that yet for wav files.  Is there something like it or am I stuck putting them in those "soundcloud" like sites and then posting the link.

sorry if this has been a beaten horse, my quick search didn't find the right responses I was looking for.  I have some sound files i'd like to post up one day. thanks in advance.

Sound cloud's the best one I know of.

Make sure when you post them to not include any description of what you think you hear in the sound clip, even as a title. It colours people's perceptions of it.
It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

To all the true skeptics in the forum, I already know your views on the whole "ghostbox" gadget.  I understand everyone feels its bleedover from radio stations, random RF blips, partial words of DJs and/or songs, etc.  That's all cool, I get that, but hey, this is for forum fun.  I have to admit, one female voice saying 3 words over 40+ different radio frequencies makes one wonder just a little....and yes, it could very well be a local DJ. I was doing that more as a test of how to post audio clips in a forum.  I guess it worked....well, I won't know until I hit the post button...here goes. LOL

ok, here are two:

This first one is over a sweep of more than 5 frequency changes.  I am always suspect of one word/one syllable responses as its easier for those to slip through on a potential bleedover.  It's the clarity of the response that was cool.  You can audibly hear how many frequencies changed with each popping white noise
http://soundcloud.co...ting-hello-note

This second one you decide what "she" said in response to my question.  I just had asked, "Did anything bad happen to you here?"  See what you take away from it.  You should note that the three words I heard occurred in the same female voice over a change of more than 40 frequencies sweeping by.  I like these that are more sentence like and all in one single voice.  What do you think she said to my question.
http://soundcloud.co...d-something-bad

Unfortunately, the way I conducted the session, you cannot hear my questions.  The reason is I do a hardline directly from the SB7's output into my digital recorder's mic input.  When there is an external mic input used, the internal microphone is automatically shutoff.

I'm still skeptical of this technology, but dang its fun to toy with.  So, you decide. Curious to hear what you think she says.  When I listen with earbuds, its truly clear and seems a direct response to the question I asked....but I'll reserve what I think it says until you guys give me some feedback.

edit to add: nope - embedding didn't work ...so reposting with the links. lmao.

Don't really see either as a full meaningful sentence.

Well the first one isn't at all as I said.  One word "hi" coming through is too easy to be bleedover from RF....but dang, its a clear "hi"

The second one, while not a perfect sentence has three words strung together in what seems to be the same female voice....and I still won't say what I think it says (if it says anything at all skeptics wink wink) so I can get more takes on it here from you guys....so not a full sentence, but three distinct words with a slight pause between each, in response to me asking, "did anything bad happen to you here".... come on...your paradoilly....uh, paradiddle...uh, what's that word? should kick in at some point.  LOL

I also forgot to post my "control" question.  Of course like many other people, I said, "Hi my name is ________, Can you say my name back to me?"  I got this:
http://soundcloud.co...on-again-see-if
I guess the game is.....guess my real name folks. ha. ;)

I totally see why its good not to say what you think its saying when posting ANY clips.  real perceived or whatever....this could make a fun new game.  "I'll take EVPS for $1000 Alex!" :P

Actually the way it works is the dial's broken. It flips up and down stations much like when you channel surf on a tv.
How much time did you spend recording this?
(Also, after listening again with the sound up, it sounds like Microsoft Sam.)

The second one... I did hear a voice, but couldn't make out anything.

Did you pay for this one, or make it yourself out of curiosity?

I spent literally only 5 minutes doing this recording.  I hard lined the box on a whim directly into my digital recorder's mic input (why none of my questions are heard, it only records what comes through the box directly).  Had earbuds then going from the recorder to me in the headphone out, to hear realtime.

I stated and asked only these questions...and I've only done it twice so far:

Said hi and hello, is anybody here? got a "reply" - female voice

Said, my name is ________, but some people call me, ___________.  Can you say my name?  got "what sounded" like my latter name I mention in both a male and female (same) voice

Said hi and hello a few more times and if anyone could hear me.  got that male clear voice of "hi"

then asked, Do you know you are dead? Did something bad happen to you here? got the "response posted above of ______   __________ ______. Anyone guessing what it sounds like yet? LOL

and that was it....stopped recording and played it all back through Adobe Soundbooth where I cut the snippets.  I know an investigative skeptic would want to hear the whole session, so I should also just post that.  It sucks you cannot hear my questions, so any skeptic would say, I was tailoring my non-heard questions after the fact in accordance to what I thought might be made out....but I didn't.  Like I said, I'm just trying this out to see if any results could be found that make sense.

I bought the box and its not a mod.  Found one of those DAS sb7's in a scratch and dent sale LOL. I liken it to the 2012 Ouija board game....yes I said game.  It's entertainment that some would argue is more (and would argue not to mess around with those boards :w00t: )...I'm not sold because I realize the pitfalls of RF reception, yet its entertainment value is high. This seemed the best over the so-called shack hacks that literally have words coming through on every other station.  This is mostly white noise due to the speed of sweep and it never pauses like you see those other hacked boxes do..in fact many of them will stop sweeping all together if you watch them demo'd on youtube or the net - yeah the interwebs. LOL.  plus every other frequency on those homemade ones has a radio voice blip coming through. This is far cleaner with minimal bleedover.  You can also sweep in reverse, at different speeds, fastest being best I suppose in theory....  It sweeps through like 10 extra bottom stations below normal radio broadcast range down into the 70s on FM.  most radios turn over at 82-83 point something. It supposed to scan through 350 frequencies in 18 seconds.  (And don't get me wrong, I do realize any RF receiver is capable of picking up ham, cell phones, or other random transmissions so again, its all suspect to that)  It's still amazing when you will hear nothing but sweep, until you ask a question and get some kind of voice reply that just sounds a bit different than the syllables that might blip through from a DJ...coincidence, maybe, probably, likely...dunno.  Look, I'm not looking to debate the validity of any of this with any skeptics because I know and realize the logical argument (and not saying you either, just in general), I wanted to post out of pure fun....

Anyhow...there's the little bit of radio fun for the night.  Beats sitting in a circle with your fingers lightly touching a doodad that's supposed to move around a haunted board. wink wink.

btw, your avitar is wiggin me out! LOL ;)

You bought it?
It's a broken radio, it's very easy to make.
My guess is the "Hi" bit, from it sounds like Microsoft Sam means it scrolled though the weather forecast radio.

Here's a recommendation.
Say nothing. And listen and record.
Have a friend do the same.
Then hook up headphones so you can't tell which is hooked up and do your thing.
Do this a few times with a few recordings. See what happens.

And with all seriousness... trying to hear something means you will hear something. It's inevitable.
I very often will hear common words while running loud machinery. Our ears and mind are tuned to do so, just as our eyes are tuned to pick shapes out of random blurs.
It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? hehe....I was wondering what the heck Microsoft Sam was.  and sure I suppose that all true....just remember I said....good entertainment value.  Broken radios....now that I like....but even a "broken" radio was purchased at some point.   anyhow....yes...a broken radio with features!!! hahaa....its takes a bit of ingenuity to have it change scan rates, forward or backward, etc....a couple nickles of electronic 101 I'm sure...that and a good line to Chinese electronics distributors. LOL

I will try your test....question....are you suggesting ask no questions and just let it record for like 5 minutes?  and then repeat the test...that's a good idea, but what's the fun in that? however....if it did say nothing for that entire time, that would sort of be spooky.  good benchmark for sure.  Do note that with the edited TV shows like GA, it is highly noticeable that they stress the fact that nothing comes over theirs for 10-20 minutes until questions are asked.  Good product placement info. don't ya think.  I can't believe I didn't think of your test first.   ;)

anyhow, do remember my posts above....I thought I was pretty clear on RF receivers being able to pick up most anything and that this is all an exercise in fun....my kiddies think its the beesknees. LOL

I still remember as a kid (many moons ago when they weren't cardboard and plastic junk) when our mother threw out the Ouija board....ha!!!  take that mom!

btw....has anyone seen the price of vintage boards on sleebay??  OMG.....I think my mother would cringe if she knew she chucked a few hundred dollars in the trash had we kept it.

a noise reduced version of that soundclip I have.  Again, this came through after I asked, "Did anything bad happen to you here?"

I won't state what I think SHE says so you can form your own opinion.  Just remember this singular female voice says three "words" over the course of 40 frequency changes with the sweep going in reverse or counting down backwards.  Remember too I get all the reasons why these types of EVPs are subject to ridicule...I understand RF bleedover, receptions and all....but its still a cool clip when you think of how many stations changed during the three sounds and that its clearly the same voice the whole time.  All I did was run a noise reduction filter in wavepad and I only offer it as something strange and am not stating its a voice from beyond the grave. Have a listen again.
