In an ideal world, that "mockumentary" would have included commentary from someone like Doctor Helen Magnus (from Sanctuary) or "UNIT Scientific Advisor Doctor John Smith" (from Doctor Who) or maybe Walter Bishop (Fringe).

Again, it's not a documentary.  It's a piece of fiction.

I saw a documentary a few years back that identified the sound as the mating call of a certain species of fish. I can't remember the name.

Good story.   If you can't cite it, why bother posting?

In the hopes that maybe someone else might know where it's from. I don't know how many time's I've brought up a view point with 'here's this viewpoint but I don't have the exact citation for it'. Also, why bother? Cause it gives us another thing to consider, even if we can't find the source.

If it was organic, we'd have found repeat signals by now, wouldn't we? I think I agree it was some kind of secret scientific experiment. Were the Myth-Busters around at the time?
Here at Intel we make processors on 12 inch wafers. And, the individual processors on the wafers are called die. And, I am employed to check these die. That is why I am the DieChecker.
