Fresh cut grass, the scent of water in the air as you walk in the woods near a stream or pond.  Pipe or cigar -unlit.  New car!  Christmas tree indoors.

We've cast the world, we've set the stage,
for what could be, the darkest age...

I love the smell of brand new electronic equipment when you first open the box that it comes in.
I also like the smell of:
Silly Putty
Rubber Cement
Rain on a hot road
The 'ozone' scent from the copy machine when somebody has a large copy job going on.

I love that musty/mildew smell of old books. A pot of ham and beans that has been slow cooking all day, onions sautieng in a pan, and my fav "sesame seed oil"

Onomatopoeia. Well, that doesn't change the fact that it's a dumb word. I mean, you gotta wonder what was going on in the room the day they needed to make up that word.

I don't think mine are weird but here goes -

Freshly cut grass, outside after it's been raining, freshly laid tar on the road, forests- woodland - the smell of trees, peach soap and lemon soap, fish & chips wafting out from a chippy, new leather, flowers, freshly baked bread, the seaside, pine bubble bath. That's all I can think of for now.

Imperial Leather soap, Clean, older men.  Cashmere Bouquet talc powder takes me back to my childhood, and Mr Matey the oginal blue one too.  The zingy bit of a lemon or orange as you dig your fingernail in to peel it.  The top of my kids heads.   Perkins paste.  Marzipan.  New pencils.  An artist's studio.  Shoe shops.  That old blue/purple ink stuff they used to make copies of school worksheets with.

When I wipe my finger behind my ear and smell it, it smells just like powdered cheese.

My boyfriends 18 year old brother has to smell everything, it's part of his autism. No one warned me, so I was a bit freaked out when he sniffed the air and said I smelt good o_O I'm use to it now though :P

I find the smell of diesel and hospital disinfectant very comforting, although I think that's cos my father is a diesel mechanic and my mum is a nurse, so that's what I was use to when I was growing up.

One thing that's weird about me though- I hate the smell of lavender. It makes me freak out for some reason, it use to be to the point that I would punch walls, and scratch my face :P

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking. Racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older. Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Old Books.
Old Woodsmoke and leaves in the autumn.
The caramelesque smell of certain solvent based paints.
Warm Skin.
The Sea.
Broken Stone, the smell you get if you break a lump of rock, a sort of heavy mineral scent.
