Rhodes scholar Tony the 'swaggering' hatchet man..

..don't you first have to be human to be a misogynist..?

[edit]

look at his face at approx 0:57 ~ 0:59 while Gillard is chewing him out.

a child being scolded.

truth hurts, eh Tony?

the sad irny is that she's lambasting a misogynist in the defence of another misogynist, Slipper. That bit is lost on all the peple crowing about how brave Gillard is, what's she's doing fundamentally is protrcting Slipper, giving the slimy b****** a chance to resign rather then be fired from the speaker's chair and from parliament itself.

Well, Tony and Slipper are apparently (or were) friends - attended his wedding no less. Birds of a feather?

Anyway, she isn't defending Slipper so much as abiding by a moral standard in that the Slipper's case is before the courts, to prejudge in any arena outside politics would be guaranteed to get an employer an "unfair dismissal" case. I don't see it as defence of him more as "deferring judgement" until all the facts are in.
