Seriously.. even though  many will not class it as a religion.. I think you may have  *sort of * answered my question...  Atheism.. No rules and no one nagging me how to lead my life..

  • You can't just choose to believe something.

Believing in something doesn't make it true.

Atheism works great for me!

Other than that........I would choose the religion of me.......that is.....if I get to have all of the special, magical powers that come with the job.......and of course a swell retirement package....

My mistake, four coffins.

Yamato -- In my opinion, if anyone was to "borrow good things from all religions", such a person subscribes to a philosophy, rather than commits to a belief.
Since I'm describing myself here and not a hypothetical person, it's a philosophy that doesn't commit to nor reject the beliefs of others.   People will believe what they do, and I can't presume to know the reasons why.  Judging people for believing something different than I do, as if I know better than they, would seem to be the height of conceit.  Belief is not knowledge, something those screaming "Prove it!" don't understand.  I think that's the more relevant distinction here where philosophy is concerned.

"The power to declare war, including the power of judging the causes of war, is fully and exclusively vested in the Legislature.  The Executive has no right, in any case, to decide the question" ~ James Madison
"Peace cannot be achieved by force, only by understanding."  ~ Albert Einstein
"To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity.   To impose on them a wretched life of hunger and deprivation is to dehumanize them." ~ Nelson Mandela
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians.  Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Christianity ... *assuming that* the ideas in the Bible are God-inspired.
So basically most religions that claim their doctrine came from a deity.

Many class it as a religion.. I class it as weird

You have listed a few there that are not religions according to many on line info about each one.,. Like Buddhism.. is not a religion is is called a philosophy...it doesn't follow any supernatural being

If you want to think of it and others like it as religions  go for it.. it is a matter of opinion
