Sir David Attenborough has bemoaned the fact that many children lose interest in the natural world as they grow up.
The broadcaster and naturalist, 86, said that all children are fascinated by nature when they are young, but lose interest as they get older.
"I don’t know any child that’s not fascinated with the natural world," he said. "But some children become more fascinated by iPads or railway engines as they grow up.
