A mystery man brought Whitehall to a standstill today after he climbed to the top of a historic 30-foot statue - and perched there naked for three hours.
Police were forced to close an entire section of the road while specialist officers tried to coax the man down from the statue - a life-size memorial to Prince George, the First Duke of Cambridge and a distant cousin of the Queen.
But despite temperatures of around 8C, chilled further by a stout south-westerly breeze, the nude exhibitionist, thought to be in his 30s, remained stubbornly on his perch as he struck a variety of poses.
I was reading the title, and when I looked down at the picture (I only saw the top part), I thought the man was perching on the tall one on the pedestal. I was thinking, "How did he climb up there? And how did he manage 'acrobatic poses' up there?".
I thought it was the statue he was sitting on, because I saw it had a sword.
Then I scrolled down and saw the naked man on the other statue.
