The Mayan calendar predicts that the end of the world is less than a month away - but there are some Britons who are taking the doomsday prophecy more seriously than most.

Meet the UK's 'preppers'- people who are preparing for Armageddon behind closed doors. Between them they fear a new dark age, natural disasters, a solar flare, and a world without law and order.

They spend their entire lives and thousands of pounds preparing for disaster.

Preparing for disaster is good, but don't be a nut about it. ;)

You can laugh at them all you want, but if nay natural disaster does happen at any time, they will be the ones living and getting on with it while the rest are crying in the corner and begging the government to help them.

I do survival stuff, so luckily I collect things anyway.

Doesn't hurt to be able to survive for a while in case of a disaster but if I were everyone I wouldn't worry about surviving Armageddon, won't be nothing left to survive for.  What is left will be fought over very mercilessly.

I survive an Armageddon every day, when I get back from the shopping trip ,and have missed something I should have bought, so I've got no worries about survival.
(1) try your best, ............if that dont work.
(2) try your second best, ........if that dont work
(3) give up you aint gonna win

Nothing wrong with being prepared, because you never know,I have a stockpile of canned and dried food at all times and i know my sister in law has at last 9 months of food stored.Although i do not buy into the Mayan Calendar fuss, there are other things in this world such as natural disasters and extreme weather events. :gun:

I hope this isn't to far off topic, but talking about stockpiling, Why is the DHS buying hundreds of millions of rounds of ammunition? Seems to me that should be the military's responsibility. Makes me wonder.

So let's assume that something will happen.... how do you prepare for survival of something that will kill all life including yourself?
