The Snowman has been a festive favourite for more than three decades but now its creator Raymond Briggs has admitted he does not even like Christmas.

The children’s author, now 78, said that he feels the season is over sentimental and said that his book in which the animated film is based is actually about mortality.

A self-confessed “grumbler” he said that he found the film version of his book “a bit corny and twee, dragging in Christmas”.

"But it worked extremely well," he said.

There goes many kids' childhood..!!
Αν ανάμεσα σ’ όλον τον κόσμο,
νιώθεις πως δεν υπάρχουνε λύσεις,
τότε μόνο δυο μάτια μπορούνε,
να σε κάνουν να θέλεις να ζήσεις.

It being about mortality makes it all the more sentimental to me.

Umm..ok

So..other than that, why should we care so much about what he thinks?
If he doesn't care for Christmas, fine. Don't celebrate.

Don't like CGI? Fine. Don't watch it.

Prefer ultra frugality? Fine..go ahead.

Don't like computers? Fine. Don't use them.
Problem solved.
