As far as deaths go this is a good one imo - blissfully oblivious and ignorant of his impending demise, just going about his business as best as his alcohol fueled addled brain would allow till the final second when he is reaching his hand up to get something from a kitchen cupboard........
Sad for his family and loved ones but glad there was no suffering in it for him.

Tbh,it's not as surprising as it looks.
There's many ways where you can die standing up.
What about all the poor sods at the Hillsborough disaster.
And you can actually stand still if somebody or something impales you.
If there's nowhere for the body to drop it's not rocket science to work out the rest.
I don't think rigor mortis is a possible explanation for this.
Even though it stiffens the body.

If he was a fun guy then he would probably get a kick out of dying like that. I know I would but I'd want to make it even more bizarre, maybe add some dramatic music and pyrotechnics... Go out with a bang.
