A mother was awoken by the cat hissing to find her 2 year old wrapped up by a python in their bed.

Poor little one was bitten three times on the hand as the mother wrestled to remove the python from her.

Luckily she is alive and well and seemingly more curious than afraid of pythons.

"I warn you, whoever you are, oh you who wish to probe the arcanes of nature, if you do not find within yourself that which you seek, neither shall you find it outside.
If you ignore the excellencies of your own house, how do you intend to find other excellencies?
In you is hidden the treasure of treasures, Oh man, know thyself and you shall know the Universe and the Gods."

If the mother hadn't woken up when she did we'd probably be reading a different story. She was lucky the python didn't bite her too, or come to think of it, wrap itself around her first. It's good to know her and her daughter are both safe. Their cat deserves an extra helping of cream when it returns. According to the article the cat has since run off and has not returned home.
