For the lucky HIV positive "Berlin Patient", a bone transplant to cure his leukemia by a marrow donor that is immune to HIV, accidentally lead to his immune system being rewritten to resist HIV and thus being cured completely.

But the story below is the other way around. A groundbreaking technique which uses a disabled form of HIV is introduced to a T-Cell to teach it to fight cancerous cells that cause Leukemia.
