Re the big deal about changing the constitution…..didn’t Bush change the constitution?  The 4th amendment I believe.  Can’t remember if it changed or if he just didn’t pay any attention to it.

" The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. "

I do know they never tried to follow constitutional protections for citizens' privacy. They wanted to change the Constitution, by permanently stripping these rights away from the American people.

And why are responsible gun owners victims….they are able to own guns just want to change the type of guns....military style weapons.  Who needs them?  And how are background checks for responsible people a problem.  It’s only a problem if you aren’t responsible.

I my opinion you guys aren’t really making much sense saying that…

You do know an AR-15 for civilian use is a .223 round and only fires on semi-auto right?  What in the hell is the difference between that and a semi-automatic .22 rifle used to hunt rabbits?  Both could kill people, the AR-15 fires a small round.  People act like an AR-15 could punch a hole through an engine block.  But again, that is those who base their opinions on the media, instead of looking at facts.

That's a common belief but it's not true.  Totalitarian gov'ts do not trust their citizens....we are taught that in school.  The Socialist Party of Germany did not fear it's citizens.  Hitler was the most popular leader Germany ever had.  He never had to worry about someone shooting him as they do in the US.  The notion of banning firearm ownership was totallly alien to National Socialism.  Before Hitler even got into power the previous gov't put lots of restrictions on gun ownership but when Hitler came into power he changed all that.  He encouraged the people to own guns and beleived it was important for a man's character.  Again, the firearms law enacted by Hitler's government enhanced the rights of Germans to keep and bear arms; no new restrictions were added, and many pre-existing restrictions were relaxed or eliminated.
lol, that is a full load of b.s. kinda inside myth at UM.this is a LIE, stop spreading it.

This article addresses German firearms laws and Nazi policies and practices
to disarm German citizens, particularly political opponents and Jews. It begins with
an account of post-World War I chaos, which led to the enactment in 1928 by the
liberal Weimar republic of Germany’s first comprehensive gun control law. Next, the
Nazi seizure of power in 1933 was consolidated by massive searches and seizures of
firearms from political opponents, who were invariably described as “communists.”
After five years of repression and eradication of dissidents, Hitler signed a new gun
control law in 1938, which benefitted Nazi party members and entities, but denied
firearm ownership to enemies of the state. Later that year, in Kristallnacht (the Night
of the Broken Glass), in one fell swoop, the Nazi regime disarmed Germany’s Jews.
Without any ability to defend themselves, the Jewish population could easily be sent
to concentration camps for the Final Solution. After World War II began, Nazi
authorities continued to register and mistrust civilian firearm owners, and German
resistence to the Nazi regime was unsuccessful.

The AR15 can be modified very easily and it can shoot 100 bullets in one minute.   And why do you think I am going by what the media thinks.  My friend in the Army tells me an AR15 is the Harley Davidson of guns...and it's made to accessorize.
More furniture can be hung on an AR than the gun is worth, many times over. The only limitation to accessorizing an AR is your imagination and bank account.

And with a little ingenuity you can't do that with any rifle?  Modifying is for the enthusiast believe it or not.

By your logic, you shouldn't be able to modify your car.  It would be too fast and dangerous.  We don't want you getting into an accident and hurting anyone now would we?  Come on...

Come on now, you can do better than this.

It's illegal to modify cars in many states and many countries.  You can't talk on a cell phone where I live.  There are laws as to what you put in your car, same for the types of lights used... all exhaust silencers must be maintained in a good and efficient working order. You will be breaking the law if you remove a silencer or make any modification that would make that vehicle emit a noise louder than the original exhaust before it was modified.  It's illegal to own a car without proper registration.... Staying safe and legal is important when modifying your car.  Should be same for GUNS!

lol  you have lots of laws in Michigan restricting what you can and cannot do to yr car.  Also your car has to be registered to own it.  Nice try.    Maybe if you go to India you might have a bit more freedom....but you go ahead and enjoy your imaginary freedoms.

LOL I live in a small town, maybe in in the city it's more strict.  When I was 16 I had to use a towel as a windshield wiper for 2 days, when I was pulled over for speeding I only got a chuckle from the officer.  And of course you need to register a vehicle, how easy would it be to steal a car if you didn't.  Come on dude...

What is infringe? Infringe is when individuals or government limits or take away rights or liberty of individuals that are protect by law. The constitution is basically our law and nations founding document. Did our founding fathers said our rights and liberty in the constitution shouldn't be infringed upon? When an group wants to infringe upon those rights to own guns, they are giving up their right to bear arms for safety measure that is temporary, never is safety measures permanent. That means when are safe in the government's eyes, they will take away the safety measure and we will never be able to get our right to bear arms back again because we gave it away! The government is always trying to expand, regardless if you want it or not, that is why when you give something up they take it away forever.

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Benjamin Franklin

Like Benjamin Franklin said, you deserve neither if you don't understand why we need them in the first place!

1) No... just.... NO. Do a little research.. do you know how much a RDIAS cost? LoL

2) This is true of hundreds of different styles of weapons... I have a 30-06, a .308 and a 7 Mag... all of which have scope rails.. on those rails I can mount a variety of things... all can be modified for a bipod... I can even get a rail modification that allows to me have multiple attachments..

last but not least... the AR-15 is not an "assault weapon" (btw, that word is literally made up for political purposes) nor is it military grade... it is not high powered nor is it automatic... Its built to look cool (looks are nothing more than a novelty) The AR-15 is best suited for target practice, shooting small pest animals such as Coyote and limited dear hunting... but being an experienced hunter I wouldnt use it for a shot that is over 120 yards (personal preference). To me the .223 round just lacks the power to drop a good sized buck... and I really just dont feel like trailing one for half the day... especially when my 7mag can triple my range and effectiveness.

Again, please do some research before stating things as "Fact" and lets not listen to "Army Buddies" on a constant basis... I served... I was a combat engineer... and I can tell you that the guys in supply or maintenance couldnt tell you the difference in an AR-15 and a 22 (unless they were avid gun owners). Being a soldier doesnt make you the all knowing on weaponry...

I have done my research and I disagree with you.  James Holmes the Colorado shooter fired off as many as 50 shots per minute.....at least one bullet blasted all the way through a wall in the theatre and hit a person on the other side.

Yes, they are Assault Rifles. I'm going to just quote pro gun web sites.

http://www.proguns.c...saultrifles.asp

http://www.cheaperth...om/prod/AR_1…

http://www.gunsinter....com/Tactica…

http://www.tacticalarmsmfr.com/

http://www.prebanarms.com/

The list goes on and on with a simple google search...

All of these pro gun sites call them the AR-15 Assault Rifle

The official name for the weapon by the manufacturer is: AR-15 Assault Rifle

Make your own judgement.

Try and ban em. See where it takes this country.  "no sunset" this time around. Take a look deeper at whats going on to your civil liberties and stop being focused and narrow minded to one subject.

Did you actually intentionally imply that there is no real difference between a .223 Remington and a .22? Do you know anything about weapons?

More than half America is wanting these assault weapons banned and most of the members in the NRA agree with registration of guns.  The responsible ones do.    Also what are the rest of you going to do if it goes through.....start shooting, terrorize everyone?  That's what the Christians did to the doctors who gave abortions....did it stop them, No!
You sound like a spoiled little kid Asteroid.  I think the Gov't has far more impressive weapons than your guns.  You wouldn't have a chance....
