Working on Four NASA MMS Spacecraft Simultaneously

NASA's Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) mission clean room is buzzing with activity as engineers work on all four MMS observatories at the same time.

At front left, electrical technicians complete thermal wrapping of the wiring for the spacecraft deck avionics for observatory No. 3. To the right, the illuminated blue light indicates a live functional test on observatory No. 2. In the farthest corner, near the center of the photo, observatory No. 1 is draped in Lumiloy and being fitted with thermal blankets that will protect it in space. Last but not least, on the far left a thrust tube/propulsion module is lowered by crane onto spacecraft deck No. 4.
