More 'WORDS':

Posted Image

I framed this quote that my father typed out and sent to me about 20yrs ago, because he's not one to show emotions and this arrived just when I needed it ........... although he didn't know that at the time.
It's a poem by Mervyn Peake, written in 1950:

'To live at all is miracle enough.
The doom of nations is another thing.
Here in my hammering blood pulse is my proof.

Let every painter paint and poet sing
And all the sons of music ply their trade;
Machines are weaker than a beetle's wing.

Swung out of sunlight into cosmic shade,
Come what may the imagination's heart
Is constellation high and can't be weighed.

Not greed nor fear can tear our faith apart
Where every heart beat hammers out the proof
That Life itself is miracle enough.

What, in all the world, could I do to earn my living and still live as myself, as I knew myself to be? Temporary masks, I knew, had their place; everyone was wearing them, they were the human rage; but not masks cemented in place until the wearer could not breathe and was eventually suffocated.

One more for "words" from me. I woke up to this early one morning when we were camping in Florida.

^ ^ ^  WOW! I wonder if it was meant for one person in particular(and did they see it?), or was it meant as a general message for anybody and everybody? I think I would have a copy of it on my wall

What, in all the world, could I do to earn my living and still live as myself, as I knew myself to be? Temporary masks, I knew, had their place; everyone was wearing them, they were the human rage; but not masks cemented in place until the wearer could not breathe and was eventually suffocated.

The entire thing ended up saying "JESUS LOVES YOU" but I only snapped the LOVE section. The "clouds" started dissipating pretty quickly so by the time it was finished most of the "Jesus" was a blur anyway.

'Jesus loves you' ...... hahaha! if someone looked up and saw that but didn't hear or see the plane, well, 'instant conversion' I'm thinking  !

Ironic? You decide. Here's a section of a poster on a shop's window:

For "Words", here's something a little different, clearly NOT posted for quality or artistic merit - more of a puzzle/observation test.

Taken back in the 80's, I though it was rather amusing - can you spot why?

Wonder if they are still in operation..

There's only two 'i's in 'signwriting' :hmm: . I wonder how long it was after that was done, that someone pointed out the mistake?

Reminds me of the Varsity rugby match a few years back, sponsored by Konica (shows how long ago that they were a big player in photography) - brilliant pitch-side advertizing for "Konica Camers"

Words, I loved this category so much considering I'm a writer, that I took these just now.  The three prettiest books in my collection.

From a shoot I did not all that long ago..  I have cropped most of the top of the picture off, in order to focus on the topic.. (and to protect the innocent - you'll just have to take my word that she looked stunning..)

I love monochrome photos ...... they have a special charm to them.

Me too - I shoot a lot of my work in monochrome.  I love the way that it reduces a photograph to its basic elements; light, shadow, composition, and texture.  Its my preferred style.  :)
