I have always believed this is one cryptid that is highly likely to exist but not sure what it could be.
I think it's a type of Hyena.

What does everyone else think?

The Nandi bear was reported to sit on its bottom, something a Hyena is unable to do so. I was thinking about a composite creature of two unknown animals whiches are look-alikes : a Bear and a mustelid-like animal, something like a big African Wolverine. This latter being the true brain-eater, as it is the case with some mustelids, the polecat for instance. In the book Hidden animals written by Newton Michaels, the animal is decribed as bear-like, carries a long stout tail curved over the back like a dog, has an ape-like face and is covered with long black fur. Moreover the animal has killed a forest hog, which shows how powerfull it is. The Malawi terror beast might've been this same animal BTW.
