I have heard of an urban legend that if you dream of dying then you will die.
Or if you dream of anything it'll happen.
where does this legend originate from?

Someone with a bit of time on their hands it seems.

I once dreamed of being crushed in a room by a falling ceiling and was conscious right until the moment it happened and felt my skull pop...was wicked.

I doubt the validity of that though, that it means I'll die as a result of it, on what basis does it stand? The Paranormal?

Also, remember that myth 'If you die in a dream you die in real life'? It used to freak me out until I realized..."wait, how could anyone know that?"

Some people have dreams that come true . Most however,do not.
The rumor was,if you dream of dying while sleeping ,the shock is too much for the brain an psyche to handle,so you died in real life too .
I have dreamt I died ,and well,here I am .

I dreamed that a famous person died, when I was a kid. They died during or after my dream. I saw the news that morning, and I felt sick after I watched the special report on their passing. It was the most memorable dream in my life.

I've mentioned in the past that I have had dreams that have come true, however, they are the minority and mostly involve my personal life and people I know, not huge prophetic dreams for the world etc.  Mostly dreams are the psyche working through images and fascinations of our day.  As to dreams of death, I've had plenty and in a variety of ways - still here also.
