  • "All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring."

Because insomnia is the way I roll, I figured what better way to spend my time than lurk on UM...slowly becoming my online getaway.

London Bridge Is
where i dreamed i met you
where i fell in love with you
  before we started
Falling
  down the endless spiral
  thinking in circles
  living in circles
Down
  into darkness
  into pain
  into hate
Falling
  endlessly speeding up
  ripping each other apart
  tearing each other
Down
destroying the ground beneath our feet
  until we start
Falling
digging our nails painfully into each other
  trying to stop falling
Down
  is it us or reality
if we open our eyes will we finally see
London Bridge Is
  the only thing that isn't
Falling Down
  i wish you were
My
  even though you aren't
Fair
  you ******** ******
Lady

Love the way you incorporated a children's rhyme into this poem, yes, I read it twice, first straightforward then just the words capitalized.

London Bridge is the only thing that isn't Falling Down...is a brilliant line.

Great poem Odd. You really just blew my mind and inspired me, and for something to touch me that deeply is somewhat of a feat. Being a poet myself I'm very critical, and most of the time can't really feel the pain of others, because I'm too busy feeling my own pain, and releasing it upon the world through the ink in my pen, or letters on my keyboard. You are a great mind Odd, dark and cracked with a heart of glass that forever spills your blood overflowing with life, love, smiles and hurt. You just gave me hope for another day buddy thank you.

One night I ventured to my wooden rocking chair right outside my back porch, and I looked to the sky in the break of twilight, staring into the dark mirror of space, filled with sands of star dust, colossal supernovas and red giants, strings of wormholes and distant planets beyond my grasp. A place where tiny enigmatic hidden black holes tear through the fabric of space and time which, who knows; may lead into other dimensions and perhaps alternate realities. And as I look up at this heavens mirror which my hands can only reach so far through this looking glass, I felt an odd sensation of something looking back staring into my own eyes, staring into a whole other universe of which I new nothing about until I saw my reflection within it, and in that moment I then knew that the key which open the portal doors to parallel worlds was myself.    "The Eyes of the Universe, Chris Landrum"

Had to read this yet again after TNO was inspired by this specific piece to write his The Big Bad Wolf piece.

Love can have it's harsh phases and ends and even the original children's rhyme has dark theories for its origins.

Really like that it is inspired by a nursery rhyme, sing-song-rhymey by nature but this piece does not rhyme at all, another excellent twist. The beginning is the best but having everything spiral down and out of control adds a sense of authenticity, just like the original London Bridge Is Falling Down.
