I won't call you a hypocrite. Don't worry about name calling if you are speaking your mind.

As far as McCain goes all I can say is that he himself said that "no one more unqualified has ever run for president" (in reference to Obama) and then McCain lost to him. Haha that is all I have to say about McCain, that and he can be very disrespectful to younger members of congress.

I would call myself a middle-of-the-road independent if I had to define myself. I am liberal on social issues such as abortion, gay marriage, and healthcare; yet I am conservative on issues like gun rights, fiscal/monetary policy. I do not consider the modern republican party to be conservative. In fact, I think that the modern republican party is the most hypocritical political party in American history. They preach smaller government, yet when they get into power they never actually shrink the government, they usually expand it even more. They preach that we need to reign in the debt., yet they never did anything about it when they controlled both houses and the white house under Bush. It is because of this hypocrisy that I voted for Obama in the last election. God only knows what damage Mitt Romney would have caused- I dare say it would be worse that the damage Obama is causing. Both parties in my opinion are responsible for the mess we are in, both equally responsible. Both have been sharing the reigns of power in this country for far too long. It is time we tell them both to take a hike, send them a message, and elect a 3rd party candidate to the white house in my opinion. I really hope a good, viable, 3rd party candidate runs in the next election.

Any conservative who thinks the republican party actually has true conservative values needs to stop drinking the kool-aid and take a look at reality.

Any liberal who actually agree's with true liberalism philosophy is living in a fantasy world that is very very dangerous to the welfare of this entire country. Liberalism is what spawned communism, socialism, fascism, marxism, etc. That is the true legacy that liberalism has left on the world.

Any liberal who thinks conservatives are insane for fearing government tyranny needs to study history. They will find that the fear of government tyranny is justified, relevant, and always is an ever present threat to a free society.
Any liberal who wants to ban guns, ban assault weapons, etc. needs to study facts about gun crimes as they relate to laws. Don't you dare try to take away my right to defend myself. Nothing turns me away from liberal doctrines more than this fallacy of logic.

Hmm, what do you think really happened to Osama?
That's a story for a separate thread, but very quickly. The DNA test would have tested positive on osama, his father, or any one of his sixty some odd brothers. The average life span on dialisys for a person in the USA, getting good treatement in a hospital is 7-10 years. How many years would bin-laden have been on it 14? 15? 16? Something like that. They got rid of the body, eliminating the possibility of further examination and verification of the identity. What fool could possibly believe they killed bin-laden when they claimed they did?????

What does it matter if the leaders of our government lied in order to start a war?
The highlighted text was talking about who gave the order to shoot down passenger planes.  In a situation like this, it would be confused as to who would have given the order since it is only logical that the order be given.  So is this really a lie?  And I question the rest of bullet points in the article as being outright lies as the mood of the op perceives.

Quote

I would say it matters a great deal, especially since 1.5 trillion of our current debt is directly related to those wars
$1.5 of $4 trillion in 8 years is not so bad considering Obama gave us $6 trillion within 4 years with even less to show for it and he's not finished.  Obamaites have no leg to stand on when trying to blame Bush for increased debt.  Besides, war debt is what this government should handle, not debt from welfare and Entitlements.

Quote

and another great deal due to the lower tax rates and crashing economy which can also be linked to the wars.
That's incorrect.  That is misleading to blame the crash on the wars.  Just think about it.  They have nothing to do with each other.  Follow the paper trail.  The crash was in the mortgage and finance sector.  What caused the crash was the banks having to give out risky loans to people that couldn't pay the mortgage.  That creates a bad situation that forces the banks to basically bet against themselves by repackaging risky subprime loans.  They were stuck between a rock and a hard place.  So the question is why were they in that position, what forced them into that position?  It wasn't wars.

Obama isn't that great, certianly he is no better than Bush really,
Obama is worse than Carter.  Bush was far from perfect but he had a workable plan and when he most needed help from the loyal opposition, he was basically told to go take a flying leap.  Obama will reap what the Dems sowed.

but the current state the country is in is due to a complex chain of events, most of which were based on lies.
Rome also fell from a complex chain of events both external and internal.  A perfect storm of events.  We find ourselves in the same situation today.  History is clear, yet our leadership is leading us down the same path.

What politician doesn't lie?  It's not about the lie as much as it is about the ideology.  The current state of the country is due to the prevailing ideology.
