  • Sometimes it's better to keep the mystery unexplained.

A woman called out the Scottish SPCA after finding a tropical scorpion in a bunch of bananas brought home from the supermarket.

The incident happened at a house in Trohoughton Avenue in Dumfries.

Animal Rescue Officer Tricia Smith collected the sand-coloured desert hairy scorpion.

It has been taken to the charity's Glasgow rescue and rehoming centre. The Scottish SPCA said a sting from the scorpion would be sore but not deadly.

Not really that odd. I worked in a produce store and we'd often find spiders, slugs, etc in bananas or other boxes. We'd then make pets of them until a manager threw them away. :P

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth a war, is much worse...A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

And like most illegal immigrants, within a week it will have a furnished flat and £3k in the bank.
