These images may look like photographs of some of the biggest names from stage and screen, but they have in fact been drawn completely by hand by an Italian artist.

The stunningly realistic pictures of the likes of Johnny Depp and Charlize Theron were created by Franco Clun using a simple lead pencil.

The steady handed artist has spent painstaking hours immortalising A-list names including British actors Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen.

Some you can tell are very well done drawings, but others are impeccable and near impossible to know are drawings unless knowing beforehand.

"I think there may be "ghost phenomenon" that may be still not fully understood or dismissed, but that doesn't make it spirits of the dead, anymore than "UFO" means "spaceship" or even "UFO" or "spaceship" is directly related to aliens, or anything else. There is way too much assumption and a baseless reliance on anecdotal lore, like when people assert this or that about the spirit world or the astral plane or Ouija board demons, or religion. I say 'says WHO?'" - Paranormalcy

The Daily mail may have its faults as a newspaper but there again they all do, however it has in the past 12 months showcased some outstanding artists and whilst these are great I still think many till look like drawings, outstanding drawings none the less.

Here are a few more examples, Paul Cadden is one of my favourites:
