Incredibly, the Nobel Foundation has no category for recognising Engineering as a branch of Scientific endeavour that brings the real benefits of Pure Physics into the real world.

All of that changed today with the first recipients of the Queen Elizabeth Prize being honoured for their contributions to making the Internet a reality...
