I think there are about 7 billion people on this earth I never heard off. A large portion of those probably did something important at one point or another. Sad that not everyone gets the recognition they deserve.

I've heard of Vasili Alexandrovich Arkhipov and Stanislav Petrov. I've read about these incidents before. I think it's important to learn about these kinds of people. Makes me feel not so pessimistic about the human race. Thanks Black Red Devil.

hang on, number 1:

Quote

A Ph.D. in plant pathology and genetics, Norman Borlaug basically trotted around the entire developing world dishing out delicious tips on high-yield, disease-resistant crops - much like that huge tomato Lisa planned to wipe out world hunger with on The Simpsons.
Frankestein foods? The creator of Freankestein Foods was #1 in the People Who Saved The World that You've Never Heard Of? But Frankestein Foods are Bad. That can't be right.

or is it not as simple as the people who say "Say no to Frankenstein Foods" usually think, I wonder?

Life is a hideous business, and from the background behind what we know of it peer daemoniacal hints of truth which make it sometimes a thousandfold more hideous.

Yeah I was of the same opinion when I initially read it then I thought, what's better a strawberry sprayed with chemicals and the size of a potato which will give you cancer when you're 70 and cause you to die when you're 80 after advanced medical treatments, or, die of hunger before you reach puberty because of overpopulation and famine?

There's a bit of head- scratching going on here as well. But I know of a Donald Henderson.I'm not so sure about saving the world but he certainly saved my bacon. He's currently snowbound in Ruabon and is awaiting a Red Cross aid package.Tbh he did say he had already got a job.Though having a PHD in anything would be one of the last things to cross my mind.

I credit my ability to stay alive to my own instincts, seeing as I have never really had shots and refuse to take them, not to mention how I refuse to take modern medications for every slight ill.
I hold healthy and strong, as always.
