Imagine yourself in Europe at the end of WW1. Surely, with the influenza outbreak, that would have considered to have been an apocalypse. Moreso in fact than the time we currently live.
We may be living in 'one continual apocalypse of many', I don't know. But we're going to be here until either the Earth or Sun gives out. Of that, I'm sure.
But that's just my opinion.
This is the budgie-cage ornament view of life ---= you know these little rocking toys that spring back whever you push them over. I really don't think our society is a budgie-cage ornament. Also, to think of it like that is to be powerless to make things better.
