General Hummel is a character played by Ed Harris in the movie The Rock.

Not posting this to question why someone would be posting lines from a movie script on a thread dealing with a serious matter.

Instead for anyone else confused by who General Hummel is, it is a fictional character, a role.

Yes, it may be a fictional character, but I feel the quotes and clips were very relevant to this conversion about Benghanzi.

I mean, what if the men who died (men in our military, who are protecting our country) were YOUR brother, or brother in law, or father? How would YOU feel about what the government is doing? Those men could have been saved. But, Obama and Clinton let them die. Then, they lied about what really started the riot, because it would make them look bad before an election. Not to mention the ambassy wasn't properly protected, either.

It's absolutely sickening that the liberals are like, Well, what does it matter now? Their dead.
It matters A LOT to the families. Don't they deserve the truth? Not lies?

They did not lie.

Obama and Rice could not reveal classified information to the public.

They had to give the information the CIA released as declassified, very bland and brief.

The CIA was trying to hunt these guys down, to instantly say we know who did it, would have hurt their investigation.

Obama called it a terrorist attack two days later. That is when he was allowed to say it.

The WH and SD did not lie to me. Don't forget those FOX guys are also blaming the CIA.

FOX news is lying to others.

FOX news is the only source of complaints from the media.

Most of America is not buying it.

They never stopped reinforcements.

One plane that Hicks claims was stopped was already said to be evacuating others.

The bottom line is this: if the belly-aching from the right was based on saving lives, from not letting it happen again, they would focus on policy.

If all their efforts were on policy we would have a better policy in place faster, that would save lives, a policy which would continue past this administration.

Wasting time on people who won't be in office or appointed in a few years is a waste of energy. Their conspriacy theories are based on emotional tirades and not critical thinking.

Stop being such a crony and accept that not everyone agrees with you. There is a reason that liberals and progressives make up only 20% of the voting block. Few think like them. Don't shoot back about the elections. Those were won with slogans and snake oil. When it comes down to it conservatism still tips the scales in this country and if the entire country were to sit down and take a test and actually think about what their true values were conservatism would break the scales.

As for the embassy comparisons there are a couple things that stand out about Benghazi. One, an ambassador was killed, the first since Carter. What is it with liberal presidents getting their ambassadors killed? Two, I doubt the Bush administrations pulled any punches about what happened. They weren't afraid to identify the enemy.

Also, Obama calling it terror two days later makes me wonder why Susan Rice went on 5 talk shows 5 days later calling it anything but terror.

You know what needs to happen right now? The POTUS himself needs to put this thing to rest and give the nation the official story himself. He's been pretty muted about it. I might not like him much and he might not like guys like me but he is our president and he owes it to all of US to tell the truth when things like this blow up. Just because we are political opponents doesn't mean he needs to blow me off. I am an American citizen and he owes it to everyone to be forthcoming and not just to those who voted for him.

Remember people, the Dark Minds guide to conspiracy theories printed in Psychology Today
Is this the test?
How susceptible are you to conspiracy beliefs? Rate your agreement with the statements below, from 1=strongly disagree to 5=strongly agree.
1.    For the most part, government serves the interests of a few organized groups, such as business, and isn't very concerned about the needs of people like myself.
2.    I have trouble doing what I want to do in the world today.
3.    It is difficult for people like myself to have much influence in public affairs.
4.    We seem to live in a pretty irrational and disordered world.
5.    I don't trust that my closest friends would not lie to me.
Answer key: 5-11: weakly, 12-18: moderately, 19-25: strongly (Adapted from a scale developed by Patrick Leman)

For this test to really work, it should be blatantly subjective to the test taker.  #1, #4, & #5 arenít really subjective.  These are axioms or those that strongly disagree are naÔve.

#1 in general is true.  Government serves the interest of a small group.  It doesnít have to be business.  It is the Ruling Elite which may control business.  The Founding Fathers gave us a document that would restrict the Ruling Elite and force them to be concerned with the needs of the people and the nation.  But the Socialists have usurped the intentions of the Founding Fathers.  This is no CT.

#4 is a scientific fact as it is the world of reality.  Perhaps one could consider that chaos is order.  Perhaps the better question would be, ďDo you perceive the chaos of this world to be ordered or not?Ē

#5 is true in that ďwho does not lieĒ?  What friend has never lied even if it is a white lie, to protect you?

The article itself (http://www.psycholog...rist-dark-minds) seems simplistic and aimed more at an agenda.  It seems more like an attack on Alex Jones than anything else.  I agree of much of the article as representative of people that lean toward CTs in a detrimental way, but it could also represent just about anybody and I think the article hints at that just to CYA (the authorís professionalism conflicts with his dishonesty).  One would have to assume that no conspiracy has any level of truth to it.  Iíve been to Dealey Plaza, behind the fence above the Grassy Knoll.  If I was part of an assassination team, that would be the place I would setup at.  And even though that is not proof in itself, I can never see anything else but a Conspiracy.  Itís not because I feel powerless, itís from direct observation.  I believe that aliens have visited us throughout history and even pre history.  All you have to do is look around the planet to see evidence of that.  For me itís Nasca, Puma Punku, Tiwanaku, and Band of Holes near Pisco.  And I think that many governments have the proof of that and are afraid for the very same reasons this article sites for CTers, feelings of being powerless.  I donít believe that if governments came forward that our culture would collapse.  I think that if other worlds are watching us, they are probably waiting to contact us until we get beyond this stigma.

The more one feels like screaming, the less function they have in the prefrontal cortex, thus diminished capacity for critical thinking.
You see LBA, this is why people get their backs up about what you say.
To you, you're just stating a simple fact. To others you're saying "you're not thinking critically" with a side order of "because you disagree" because the tone of the Raven's post was "I disagree".
