Since he was very young, my son has always said that things around him shimmer and sometimes when he looks at people, he sees white dots on them that seem to move and fade. What does this indicate? Psychic abilities run in my family but this is a new one to me.

Nothing yet, but kids are very susceptible to suggestions try not to act like its out of the ordinary or anything strange just let it evolve for now. If he starts seeing odd shapes and such depending on his age there could be a few things going on.

I saw like this when i was a kid, i would see the dots in brilliant colours too and they would also come in formations and swirls around people, and also not around people. It was how i was perceiving peoples energy fields and energies in general and of the deceased. I can tell you now as an adult that by the time I was in my early teens I had had quite a few experiences in the mediumship realm, and it wasn't until my early 20's that I started to take it seriously and develop myself.

I can't say this is what your kid is experiencing on what you say alone, as with me other things developed with it too, over time in progression and the experiences had were clear validations. Seekers advice is wise, don't act like it's anything special, but don't shut it down either. I was fortunate in that my parents did neither, i was neither told i was just 'seeing' things and made to feel wrong for how i seemed to be operating, nor was it given the slightest bit of attention. I actually channelled it into art work.

Thanks for the replies so far...guess I should mention that my son is in his early 20's and has been around our family's psychic abilities so he thinks nothing of it. I was just wondering what his abilities were with the description he has given me. We don't think anything psychic is out of the ordinary...lol!
