What caused the East Coast Tsunami?

Underwater volcanic activity?  .. especially  along the mid Atlantic Ridge?     Can you imagine the wave caused by an underwater outburst the size of say, Mt Saint Helens?

how can 1-6 foot be tsunami? arent they waves?
