wow those bears look tiny next to b52.

Must be an old pic, or a reenactment scene. The Red Star was replaced by the Russian tri-color in 1991, 22 years ago.

You know, Im amazed at how many people use this word with no freakin clue what it actualy means.

If you are referring to my use of "isolationism", it is quite simply the policy of isolating the country from others by not entering into political, economic, etc agreements with the rest of the world. The equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and screaming so you can't hear anybody else. It's also a poor way to run a country in this century.

I believe it's still used as a national marking, like the star & bar on US aircraft.

This is the current version:

And this is the Soviet version:

Life is a hideous business, and from the background behind what we know of it peer daemoniacal hints of truth which make it sometimes a thousandfold more hideous.

I understand what the word means. I just for the life of me cant figure out how it applies to this conversation.

Some things are true, even if you dont believe them.

According to the wikipage for the Russian Air Force the top roundel has been in use since 2010 and the bottom one was in use from 1992-2010 so it would not really be the Soviet version.

top is correct, though both are in use until everything gets repainted, so both for a while.

Or how anyone could possibly use America and Isolationist in the same sentence.
America is so deep into every other nation on the planets business its not even funny.
Simply asking to pull your people back isnt isolationist, its common sense.  The whole world is getting fed up with America intervening into their affairs.
We are NOT the Worlds Police force.

The only scenario I can envision where this is a truly good thing is this: America is invaded by conquest driven E.T.s and all nations unite to counter the threat to humanity.
