A 6-year-old girl has died after an accidental shooting at a Hopkinsville home on Sunday.

The Kentucky New Era reported the young girl passed away late Sunday night at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville.

Police were called to the home on Linda Drive around 9:40 a.m. Police said the victim was accidentally shot in the face by her 4-year-old brother with a .38 caliber gun.

Truly sad...The poor childs life will never be the same again... A 4 year old has no sense, and was just playing.. The grandfather should not have left his gun around little kids... Sad sad story...

Nowhere does the article say anything about taking all the guns away.

Why are pro-gunners so against posting the negative side?

Fear.

aztek in all fairness the guy is right, you have dragged in an issue that the article does not mention.. When I read the article, the first thing came to my mind was - Poor kid and careless grampa...Not any anti or pro gun issues..Which is what your first post seems to be.  I am not telling you what to post, I was just surprised that you would base your only thoughts on anti gunners..moth a little about the grandpa and go on about taking guns away!

The news article is only posted to share a tragic story..It has nothing to do with pro or anti gunners...

It actually doesn't.  Child fatalities from firearms accidents barely make a blip on the radar compared to other things such as drownings, poisonings, and falls.

Even one child dying needlessly is too many. Just my opinion though.

sure it does, you are smart woman, i'm surpriced you can't see it.
how many tragic diu\children fatalities have you seen posted here (like i said before they surpass all gun accidents more than 10 fold). i don't think i have seen one in a while if at all. all are tragic stories. and way more numerous. but no one cares, however if a gun shoots, it is all over internet, and forums, you justy can't deny the bias.

so what in your opinion would prevent this particular death from happening??? not that i don't agree on tragedy of child deaths.
letme guess tighter gun control?, togher background checks? magazine and ammunition restriction???
