When most of us go to the beach, the best souvenir we can hope for is sand in our shoes and maybe a shell or two.

But for one little boy it was a little more exciting when a snail emerged from his knee following a trip to the beach.

Nice story but snails harbour all kinds of human parasites within them

Luckily that one was likely trapped in the wound while still in the egg, so it wouldn't have any parasites I don't think.

Shame he wasn't French... he coulda had it as a snack.  *gags at thought of eating a snail*

Seriously though, that must have been one freaky experience for the boy.  Glad he's ok and impressed that he's kept it as a pet.
