Just kinda wondering, are there any fellow fans of Edgar Rice Burroughs and his writing out there? He's a personal favorite writer of mine, and has done some very influential work. Despite his stuff being pretty old, I find lots of it immensely entertaining, making the same formula always seem new and fresh.

Anyone else have any opinions on him and his work?

Love the Martian Series (I even really liked the movie "John Carter" - regardless of what the critics say)... I also like the Pellucidar, Venus and Moon series - but never really was a fan of Tarzan (except the movies when I was a kid)...

While he did not invent Science Fiction.. .He pretty much invented the modern version of it (Space-adventure)... Sort of a cross between HG Wells and H Rider Haggard...

edit: Without John Carter, there would have been no Star Wars...

Loved his work though, I confess I haven't read any since I was a kid (many moons ago)
