Someone was born.
Someone lived a life.

That person grew old and died.
No one knew and no one cared.

Doesn't answer my question, though.

"The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function."  - F. Scott Fitzgerald

A character without development is simply and empty shell.

Cool :)

Two possibilities exist: Either we are all alone in the universe or we are not.
Both are equally terrifying.  -Arthur C. Clark

I... am not quite sure how I got here. I am not sure that I understand what is going on here either. Considering I've already typed words up to this point, I will contribute something:

“The person you are (in total, at that moment in time) is what creates the story you're writing. It's infused in every piece of punctuation, in the plot, in the most minor character who crosses the page. It's all your voice.”
--Victor LaValle

Sorry for the intrusion!

"From time to time there appear on the face of the earth men of rare and consummate excellence, who dazzle us by their virtue, and whose outstanding qualities shed a stupendous light. Like those extraordinary stars of whose origins we are ignorant, and of whose fate, once they have vanished, we know even less, such men have neither forebears nor descendants: they are the whole of their race."  -- Jean de la Bruyere 1645-1696.

The End.....what a sad existence. Trouble is, this happens for real.
