How stupid is that airline. Obviously this fellow simply needed 2 seats side by side. If one was flying with a 2 year old child the same thing would be needed (2 seats side by side). The airline needs to apologise to this man and educate their employees.

One wonders if it is Ryan-air, they have a speciality at being particularly awful when it comes to putting money, weight, seats before the customer.

I think society needs to figure out ways of going places comfortably without airlines.  More and more I do business over the internet and can be almost anywhere, but it's hard to get a mule ride down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon without being there.  That, too, I think, is coming.

One thing is sure -- the airlines don't build customer loyalty with the joke they have as "frequent flier miles" that you almost always, by their design, end up forfeiting.

Let me see if I've got this right...

An oversized passenger bought 2 seats per airline rules, expecting them to be side-by-side, yet did not get them side-by-side.
