But the question archaeologists have yet to answer is, “How in the world were these walls constructed so high, given how heavy the basalt logs were?” In fact, each basalt log can weigh as much as 50 tons.

Those who built the Pyramids did it, maybe they used a similar technique.

I dunno about that "50 tons" figure. My rough estimate is that 50 tons of basalt at 188 pounds per cubic foot would be a cube of basalt about eight feet on a side. The same volume in a 'log' would make for a really long log.
