Still Waters Posted October 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2013 A lead curse tablet, dating back around 1,700 years and likely written by a magician, has been discovered in a collapsed Roman mansion in Jerusalem, archaeologists report. The text is written in Greek and, in it a woman named Kyrilla invokes the names of six gods to cast a curse on a man named Iennys, apparently over a legal case. http://www.livescien...-jerusalem.html
Taun Posted October 24, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2013 The bit about a legal case reminded me of a Discovery Channel program I watched once... They were reporting on an ancient shrine being uncovered in Greece... This shrine was famous in ancient times for people writting curses on bits of pottery and casting them in (it was like a well)... They recovered thousands of curses and discovered that over 70% of them were against lawyers.... (well - the ancient equivelant anyway)
freetoroam Posted October 24, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2013 Am I missing the magic here? I can not see any writing on that old piece of building block?
