Another cafe has been hit by the strange phenomena of exploding tea towels.

Firefighters were called to Billie's Cafe in Hampton Place, Brighton, at just before 7pm yesterday to a fire in the basement of the cafe.

I remember at college we were warned about rags that got White Spirit/Turps or Linseed Oil on them. We had to keep them in Metal bins with lids on to minimise risk of fire and wash them regularly. You were never to leave them in the sun. I then googled 'linseed oil, white spirits, spontaneous combustion'. Two of the more reliable links were to PDF files that I could not link. Scary stuff.
