It's a compelling illusion if you are moving - Venus seems to follow you as it is effectively stationary in the sky, and you and the background are all moving.  Your brain is always comparing things to the background to 'identify' movement.  It can also strongly appear to follow you as you go around a bend - because you are changing your velocity vector, Venus is also changing its position in a different way, so again your brain thinks it did that to keep up..  This illusion not only fools us ordinary pedestrians and drivers, but also those supposedly excellent observers in the emergency services.

And even professional pilots can make complete and utter fools of themselves - eg witness the Mexican Air Force UFO sightings ... near the ground-based Cantarell Oilfields.  Ooops.

Thing is, in some ways professionals (esp. pilots) can be *worse* observers as they are programmed to look out for anything in the sky that might be a hazard and immediately consider it as an airborne threat, or perhaps take evasive action.  It would hardly be surprising if.. rather than admit they got taken in by a star/planet (oilwell flare..), to beef up the story to something cigar/disc shaped that was .. coming right at 'em...

Anyway, I shall now step down from my soapbox, as i don't want to attract any zoserianisms.  Again, I thank Sakari for enquiring and investigating, rather than leaping to unwarranted conclusions.

It was because Bigfoot was always coming to his back door for a handout and he was going bankrupt feeding that sucker.

Here at Intel we make processors on 12 inch wafers. And, the individual processors on the wafers are called die. And, I am employed to check these die. That is why I am the DieChecker.

Hi there, Sakari. Good to see you again.

I cant be sure , of course, but it sounds like a geostationary satellite to me.

I still await the compelling Exhibit A.

Too bad that you had to move from here where Bigfoot terrorizes us daily to someplace where alien spacecraft terrorize people daily.

I am confused...I have been in Arizona the last 3 months. I have been in this house about 2 weeks.
I got star charts ( or whatever that app is ) and Venus is lining up. It is / was Venus.
