This is apparently is breaking news...

'A phantom,' said my Uncle Mycroft, who had just materialised, 'is essentially a heteromorphic wave pattern that gains solidity when the apparition converts thermal energy from the surroundings to visible light. It's a fascinating process and I'm amazed no one has thought of harnessing it - a holographic TV that could operate from the heat given off by an average-size guinea pig.' ~ First Among Sequels, Jasper Fforde

A good purge was always on the cards, wonder how many top ranking military officers have had a midnight visit.

Young Kim needs to be sorted out,and there will be a lot of trouble down the line if he isn't.

Ironic that his uncle was accused of corruption and executed within days.

Young Kim is not corrupt! Nooo.

Sounds like there was an assassination attempt or it would not have been treated so severely.

His uncle helped put him in power. He killed his ex-girlfriend a while ago (for being his ex-girlfriend) and eighty odd other people for listening to foreign broadcasts (as well as other heinous crimes).

No, he's a tyrannical homocidal crackpot (in my opinion).

Quite so his uncle tried to get him first but failed.

But his uncle was formative in putting Young Kim in power wasn't he?

Then again, Stalin 'wigged out' as well and killed most of his early supporters too.

Standard procedure for any Dictator. Those that had the influence to put you in power could easily use their influence to get you out of power if they wanted to, so obviously you're going to soon make sure they're out of the way. See night of the long Knives, Stalin's purges, Obama's ... oh, he hasn't got to that yet has he. Stick around though, he will soon, you'll see.

Life is a hideous business, and from the background behind what we know of it peer daemoniacal hints of truth which make it sometimes a thousandfold more hideous.

Problem is you would be replacing one dictator with another, the whole lot needs clearing out. There is always hope, the wall came down in Europe after all.

This regime is probably the biggest threat to peace since the cold war.
