An African flamingo that escaped a Wichita, Kansas, zoo eight years ago has been spotted living with a companion cavorting in the Gulf of Mexico, some 670 miles to the south.

The five-foot tall bird, more white than pink and still wearing a leg band bearing its zoo-assigned number, 492, was seen last week in an inlet off Port Lavaca, Texas, by birder Neil Hayward, who described the sighting in a blog.

Good on him, shame others can not follow because they dd have their wings clipped.
Shame humans do not do the sme sort of thing to their own kind, clip the legs of dangerous criminals so they can never escape.

What right has any human got to clip the wings of birds? None, but man does think he is a god.

In an ideal World a law would be passed were NO guns were allowed and all those out there destroyed, trouble is the law makers are not going to take a risk of trying to pass that without making sure they are armed first.

Uh...freetoroam, do you realize that "clipping the wings" of birds is simply trimming their flight feathers? When the bird moults new flight feathers will grow in. In other words, wing clipping is temporary and generally done to keep injured birds from further damage.
