  • It's good to be mildly skeptical to remain sane. But too much of it will make you a douche.

Well, this is really scary if the correlation is real.

Except that many of sci-fi fans I met are not so crazy about anything supernatural or metaphysical. Many of them seem to be more interested in firepower and bloodbath, not much about magical metaphysics.

Anyway, this research might sound really tasteless to many of UMers.

They came with a Bible and their religion. stole our land, crushed our spirit, and now they tell us we should be thankful to the Lord for being saved.

Well we have plenty of people who hold too ancient aliens to crazy degrees.
But the fining seem to be "crazy people take fantasies to seriously."
Not particularly striking.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Well these types had no chance against a Lion when we came down from the Trees. When we developed more complex social groups, tilled the soil, and started looking for answers these groups flourished in our genome.

Now you can witness their behaviour on Youtube.
