I was just visited by a single large fly in my bedroom. I have native american blood so i grew up with tales of flies representing death or demons. It's the middle of winter so I found it odd, any insight would be great. thank you.

Roll over and have sweet dreams. That wasn't a spirit fly.

I would just assume that he's inside because it's warm.

It's a bit of all of the above. Having a housefly or two pop up during the winter happens because your house may have risen a couple of degrees, which caused it to hatch early, or he's a gosh darn tootin' toughie holding on. As for the omen, though. Create enough of a variety of omens, and soon you'll be seeing them everywhere you go.

Hmm. Weird. Just today I saw a squirrel outside my house. Which is odd, because it's near freezing and I've never seen a squirrel near my house, ever.
Maybe it's warmer than usual for this time of the year, so creatures are getting confused and coming back earlier.

Being a fly in the dead of winter, you have one of two choices.

1. Buzz around outside and freeze your little fly buns off.
2. Get inside a house or building where it's warm and you can land and fly around peacefully.

With all due respect, I think it's just a random fly, hun. :)

Not gonna lie though, if it turns into a zombie fly....let me know ;)

Hi.  I just had a fly in here a couple of days ago (Noblesville, IN...we're under a deep freeze right now).  It's happened before.  It's warmer inside than outside.

I've also had a couple of lady bugs in here.  And almost as many stink bugs.  They're just seeking out the warmth, that's all.  They're not trying to terrorize us.

Orbs and Chemtrails, Bigfoot and Global Warming,
It's these hoaxes and more
That give me my sour stomach each morning...

Something I want to point out.

If you live where it is very cold out, and you have a fly in your house.....

Well, that fly was not born outside ( to cold ).....

It was born where it is warm ( in your home ).......So, where there is one maggot, there are more. Somewhere in your warm home are maggots waiting for the right temperature to become flies.

Sorry, had to point that out.

sometimes those flies just sort of 'wake up 'if they got cold and dropped 'dead' on the windowsill. the sun will shine on them and they'll start buzzing around stupidly and then just die again,
flies are dumb mkay?

If I died and a friend or relative was notified in advance by a rubbish-hopping, chainsaw-buzzing, numbingly-irritating, imbecile of a winged wraith, I would be enraged and haunt the dustbins to sabotage this obscene harbinger and sweep up all the trash that it attempted to nuzzle into every available trashcan. No fly shall be the harbinger of my destruction and live peacefully thereafter!

Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air and deep beneath the rolling waves, in labyrinths of coral caves, The echo of a distant tide comes willowing across the sand and everything is green and submarine...

You're neither. You're an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill.

No?

Relax.
