Can we generate electricity from lava ?

yes, obviously ? We can generate electricity from anything that can boil water to produce steam to turn a turbine/generator... like a Nuclear power plant for instance.

Yeah. And have you ever heard of "Thermal King" used on refrigerated trucks years ago?

Anyway, I personally know one of the co-inventors(Norm Sulenes), and they made millions. I think the patent ran out by now.

He is also in a nursing home.

The interesting part is that he was also a small-time pilot, and suggested the re-use/retooling of aircraft turbine engines to generate massive amounts of electricity in very high winds, while having very high survivalbility. Such as placed in a hurricane path.

He is now too old to persue this, but I thought it was interesting.

Anyway, using heat from lava, or the lava source is certainly possible(think geothermal), but perhaps there are less costly, safer alternatives.

Sure, and we can power a car with coffee beans (they did that in the UK, if I'm not mistaken, took about ten thousand coffee to go an 100 miles..).

The thing is, is it efficient? I'm disgusted with all those articles proclaiming all sort of odd ways to power your car (or your house, whatever), most being just stupid experiments worth no value as efficiency is concerned.

And what about this infernal hole who has been flaming for 3 decades somewhere in big russia? Couldn't we use it for power too?
