ST. LOUIS, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- A Missouri woman sued her bank and a major credit bureau for declaring her dead and failing to correct the mistake.

Kimberly Haman, 46, filed the suit Monday in federal court in St. Louis against Heartland Bank and Equifax, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

She said both entities had declared her dead nearly a year ago even though she's clearly not deceased.

Hmmm... now besides lawmaking the banks are taking over the coroners function?

I think perhaps all of those 'zombie apocalypse' movies and TV shows somehow confused the bank?

I'd be curious to find out why the bank made that decision in the first place- you usually have to send a DC to prove folks dead rather than the bank popping off first. Maybe it was a clerical error, just one thing typed wrong.

how the **** is it hard to prove you're still alive?
"Hello, I'm Sue Still-Alive. Here are my details."
"Ohh hello Maam, yes it looks like we done ****ed up at own end *types on computer* all fixed. Sorry about that!"

I must not fear. Fear is the Mind-Killer. It is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and to move through me. And when it is gone I will turn the inner eye to see it's path.
When the fear is gone, there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Ah, but you are dealing with bureaucrat types: Ok, seez here that you are dead, so I am sorry Sue, but you must have a different last name!
