Britain's farmers must try to shoo away birds before they can be shot for damaging crops, according to new plans from the Government's wildlife advisers.

And anyone breaking the rules could face prosecution, with a maximum six months in jail or a £5,000 fine.

Knowing how many crows we have around here I don't see it as economically feasible to shoot at them.  Bullets are expensive, a sound cannon or a old fashion scare crow might work better and be less costly.

Do crows really cause that much crop damage in the UK?

So serious? ;o

The UK goverment are probably afraid that those crows will end up extinct like those dinosaurs so that's why they decide to establish this rule.

Crows pose a huge danger to newborn animals in the uk, young lambs will often have their eyes pecked out before they can stand,
I cant see carion having much effect on crops though
