Homeopathy is based on the idea that "like cures like." That is, if a substance causes a symptom in a healthy person, giving the person a very small amount of the same substance may cure the illness. In theory, a homeopathic dose enhances the body's normal healing and self-regulatory processes.

Which makes it more harmful than a placebo.

Okay let me try a generalization since Aqua didn't like my post.  The benefits of vaccines outweight the risks for society.  Can you live with out them, yes.  But at the risk of a shortened life span.  Vaccines are scientifically proven to work and benefit the society as a whole.

In the beginning there were only probabilities. The universe could only come into existence if someone observed it. It does not matter that the observers turned up several billion years later. The universe exists because we are aware of it.

The link in the original post links to a page that's both hilarious and terrifying in equal measure.

Badly (if at all) researched, agenda driven gibberish.  Worst of all, badly researched gibberish that could genuinely lead to someone's death.

One of the worst things I've ever seen posted anywhere.  Ever.

If it ain't from the heart, then it can't be art.
If you ain't got proof, then it can't be truth.
If it ain't got legs, then it cannot run.
If it ain't never started, then it can't be done.

Apologies, but I do stand by what I said: Fantastic claims need to be backed by evidence! If you can't do that you shouldn't expect to be taken seriously.

That's a simple lie. Well done. You told a lie.

Homeopathy is a fraud. There is an old joke about a homeopathic practitioner telling a farmer about how homeopathy works. The farmer thinks a while about how the efficacy is there although the solution is diluted and diluted and diluted. The farmer responds after all of their pondering, "Are you trying to tell me that you can fertilize a field with a fart?"

Study after study shows that homeopathy does not work.

That's an ... umm.. 'interesting' assertion.

A person who was debating honestly, seriously and in good faith would now do one of two things:

1. Post EVIDENCE and a logical argument.

or

2. Withdraw the comments as unsupported (and then try to explain why you would post such claims).

That second one might be quite difficult for those without the honesty and good faith mentioned above..  But it's one or the other...

So Solar Plexus, I'm calling you out on these claims - post support, or withdraw them graciously.

Jimmy Wales (the founder of wikipedia) is my new hero.  He understands what homeopathy really is.

http://www.geekosyst...ds-to-petition/

"People in the “holistic healing” community don’t like how they’re being written about on Wikipedia, so they started a Change.org petition asking that Wikipedia put policies in place for their nonsense to be taken just as seriously as actual science. Jimmy Wales responded and forever won our respect."

In the beginning there were only probabilities. The universe could only come into existence if someone observed it. It does not matter that the observers turned up several billion years later. The universe exists because we are aware of it.
