I was able to spend a day in the water with them and when one young girls in our group had an injury (BOOBOO) the dolphin knew and went to her and laid up against her as if trying to comfort her. Then tried to act silly to cheer her up. Seriously, any animal in the wild should be considered dangerous with humnas at the top of the list.Is this article saying that domesticated dolphins can't talk due to lack of contact with their own kind? Humans are considered to be one of the most intelligent species on the planet, yet interpreting their mysterious vocalizations is a goal that has continued to stump researchers for years. To tackle this problem, scientists at the Wild Human Project (WHP) have been developing a special translation device called "Dirt-Based Hearing and Telemetry" that can pick up and analyze some of the sounds that humans make. The first major success for the device came when WHP director Denise WideTail was able to translate a single word from ahuman in the Caribbean. The humans had been trained beforehand to associate certain noises with different objects and in this case a human was recorded using the noise for "lettuce" which is a type of landweed that the animals commonly eat. The breakthrough suggests for the first time that understanding humans is not outside the realm of possibility and that we may be able to eventually figure out just how intelligent they actually are. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
