Fear is control. Homeland security exists solely to spread fear, and to make your life unbearable if you need to fly anywhere. You are severely restricted in the liquids that you can carry as Cabin luggage, but there is no limit to the amount of liquid you can put in the hold of an aircraft.... What is the logic behind this? The entire problem is the word "Terrorist". Who decides what a Terrorist is? Am I a terrorist because I visit the conspiracy forums on this website? Is my neighbour because he voted for the wrong political party? Or the guy across the street because he is from a foreign country? Is that the road we are heading down?

The entire hunt for "terrorism" has gotten completly out of control even to the point now where kids aren't allowed to be kids anymore. Ofcourse sometimes things go bad, but thats been happening for decades even before the rise of so called terrorism.

If there isn't a current Terrorist Menace they have to invent one, because it's such a useful way of keeping people in a state of fear. Or rather, it would be if they were, but I don't think that people are that gullible, so perhaps all is not completely lost yet.

I think it's a bit unfair to take one small sound bite out of a 7 minute interview, then try and twist it into Government fear mongering.

I watched the whole thing, and have to say, she was not unreasonable at all....Nor did she insinuate that 'confrontational children become terrorists'. She simply said that in most cases of random violence there have been ignored warning signs.

She is saying it is the responsibility of the communities to not ignore warning signs. NOT the goverment.

I think we'd be better served by stop pretending the Government is always the big bad wolf, and start taking them at face value. Spreading distrust and hate for the government does nothing but distance real people away from it.

The only way it makes sense is from the bureaucratic perspective. It makes sense to them, those who run the system, whose job it is.

The bureau prospers, so that their jobs are secure and justified. It's just that simple.

Authoritarian and totalitarian regimes and subjects change meanings of words to advance and promote their philosophies. That explains why some brainwashed robots use the hysterical term, "terroristic threat", to describe many normal childhood games that involve obviously fake guns (squirt-guns, fingers, pictures, Pop Tarts). It's a form of social engineering to make the absurd become acceptable so that future generation will accept the absurd because they will have no recollections of a time when common sense prevailed. It's a form of extremely slow (but presently sped up) psychological conditioning.

Words are redefined to suit the purposes of individuals with agendas so that they can demonize their philosophical enemies with the help of the gullible. They wish to dehumanize and/or marginalize their opposition by putting over-the-top labels on them in the hopes that people won't question their verbal hyperbole (look at Harry Reid). By symbolically burning the dictionary before purposefully redefining words, they attempt to change reality to match their errant philosophy. It's related to doublespeak, but it can be just as damaging to a purported constitutional representative republic!
