Just when you thought a hornets' nest couldn't get any scarier, one with a terrifying wooden face has shown up.

A picture of the eerie looking shell, which had merged with a wooden sculpture, was posted on reddit by user CountBubs.

Amazing, these insects can create something like that, man thinks he is the clever one, well going by the hornets nest and comparing it to the paintwork on the window, i think the hornet comes out tops on design and maintenance.

Cool, but the Telegraph keeps throwing up a 'pay to read' script so I went to Metro to view it...
